The Women:

She didn’t smile or frown

Her face a sea of emotion on a blank sky

Slender fingers cradled the small beast to her chest

Its face formed a fearsome look

Inspiring fear in all its foes

Though it relaxed gentle in the women’s arms

Like a child being held by its mother

No fear or loathing is found in the way it’s held

The women keeping a tight but gentle hold

As though she was afraid of it leaving her arms

The Old Boxcar:

Leaves tumbled through the abandoned train station, following the chilly autumn wind. An old man walked the other direction along rusted train tracks, towards the wind as he made his way to an old forgotten boxcar. The old conductor’s hat sat on grey hair, the wind trying to blow the dirty hat off, a sign of long since retirement. The man didn’t care though, his mind focused on the old boxcar. Shaky, calloused hands slowly opened the door to the car, reviling aged memories of long since forgotten adventures. A ghost of smile flitted across the man’s face as he gazed at the boxes and crates holding his stuff.  Carefully, he climbed up into the car and made his way over to a dusty box off to the side. Wrinkled hands opened the box and aged eyes gazed into the contents. Pictures, color faded and edges wrinkled sat in the box. Faces smiling up at the old man making him smile back. The photos showed a happy time, when people would gather in the old ghost town. Family and friends, neighbors and work buddies all in one place. The smile fell off the man’s face and he closed the box again before slowly making his way out of the boxcar. The door was slid shut again, and the man turned away from the old memories.  Gradually he walked away until he faded into the distance, taking his memories with him.

Painting Thought:

My painting kind of reminded me of when a movie starts and they blur into something. Like you get a fuzzy picture of a building and then it fixes and you see it clearly. I though the painting looked like a blurred picture of a window when it’s raining. So when it unburr'es you would see a window and there would be rain running down it, maybe the ocean would be off in the distance  or a pretty back yard with colorful flowers. That’s what I had pictured when I saw my painting and it kind of made me thing about day I would go to my grandparents and it would be raining and I could watch the rain from their screened in porch with a cup of tea and a book.  It a rather nice memory for me because I love reading while it is raining because it is comforting.

Chicken Ship: The Story

It was a rather windy day when I found the chicken ship. Well it wasn't really a chicken ship, but I like to call it that. The truth is, I had found a pillow case on the edge of a mountain while hiking one day.  As I said, it was windy and I decided to find the cover of a cave or a large tree for a snack break.  That’s when I found it. It was a gray winkled looking pillow case, but what struck me as odd, was the nicely cooked chicken sitting on the edge of the pillow case.  I thought to myself, why would anyone leave a nice looking chicken on a pillow case in the middle of a mountain? Then and there I decided this was the weirdest thing ever. So I of course went over to the pillow case, but as I got closer I started to hear the ocean.  Now considering I live in the middle of the country, and am nowhere near an ocean, this was even weirder.  Where was the sound coming from then? It couldn't be from an actual ocean. As I crouched down next to the pillow case, I hear the sound of swords clashing, and people shouting. FROM INSIDE THE PILLOW! I swear to you that I am not crazy, well not anymore crazy then you. So I picked up the chicken and had a peek inside the case. There was an actual pirate ship! Right in the middle of the pillow case! A miniature ocean was sitting in the pillow case with a toy sized pirate shop and toy sized people! How strange! This couldn't get any weirder, there would have to be a large chicken egg in there to make it stranger. “MEN! WE HAVE A INTRUDER! KEEP THE DRAGON EGG SAFE!” I heard what seemed to be the captain of the ship yell, and then I spotted the orange and purple dragon egg. So I did want any grown man in my situation would do.

I fainted.

Chicken Ship

It is obviously a cooked chicken in the edge of a pillow case and it is guarding the pirate ship father In the pillow case. The ship is guarding the dragon egg.
  • Chicken
  • Aye, it’s a pirates life for me
  • Dragon are dangerous
  • Sleep time
  • Cooked chicken and dumplings
  • Why is the rum always gone
  • Pillow fight
  • Food
  • There ain’t no river wide enough
  • Fire breather

A haiku by me.
Chicken ship:
There is a chicken
And there is a pirate ship

A safe dragon egg

Speranza per il Futuro ( Hope for the Future )

There are a few things I found interesting from the presentation on Monday. One thing would have to be the fact that they have a school in Canada, so like if I want to go far from home then I could border hop into Canada. Another thing I found interesting was the act they also offer classes about cooking because when I think art, I don’t think of cooking. Yet it seems that cooking is in the same genre.  I am curious on, say you do want to be a chef, how long would you have to be in school? In one year I hope I am still in high school and not dead or a dropout.  In five years I would like to be in my collage of choice learning how to teach people and how to be a good author. Ten years from now I will be 26, so hopefully I will have found a job and maybe have one book written already. A stable life is what I hope for.  Fifty years from now I hope I have four or five kids and grand-kids. I hope I will have sold a book or too, made a name for myself. I hope I will have traveled to Europe and visited all my friends I have made in different states and countries.
