Music and Writing:

Q1: It really depends on the song; some music makes me happy or excited while other types will make me sad or upset.
·         Q2: My favorite song is ‘See You Again’ by Carrie Underwood. A little bit because of my uncle and brother who, you know, passed away but mostly because I like the message behind the song. It’s got to be one of my favorite Carrie Underwood songs.
·         Q3: Yes it most defiantly has changed over the years, though not all that much. I still enjoy some songs from when I was younger, but I’m finding myself liking more slow beat songs and older songs now.
·         Q4: I think people go towards the type of music that fits their personality more, or describes how they feel that day or feel about someone. Music is an emotional thing and finding the songs you enjoy is based on your emotions. If you are sad you probably won’t listen to any Lonely Island songs.
·         Q5: Yes. My best friend and I both listen to some of the same music, but almost the exact same genre. I think that’s how people tend to find their friends is by the taste in music, because if you hate some kind of song then you won’t want to hear it all the time so you won’t be friends with that person who does like it.
·         Q6: Without music, the world would be boring. There wouldn’t be as much emotion as normal because you can find music everywhere in your life no matter what or where. Without it, I think the world would be very monotonic.
·         Q7: Without music my life would be difficult. I tend to turn to music when I’m upset because it helps me feel better out myself or a situation I am in. I hit a low place in my life a few years ago and I honestly believe I wouldn’t have made it through without music there in my life.
·         Q8: I admire the music of Carrie Underwood because she is a wonderful artist. Her songs are so beautiful and I love the words and everything about them. Not only is that but she, herself, so pretty and kind. I look up to her so much.
·         Q9: One event I connect to music is the time I got into a fight with my mother and I was just so angry and upset at her that I probably would have done something I would have regretted, but I put in my headphones and listened to my music and I felt better.
·         Q10: I think any of the like hard rap where they do a lot of cussing and just spotting off the same line for like ever should not be tolerated because it has no meaning behind it what’s so ever.
·         Q11: I don’t think it really has any power to heal but I do think it can help a lot because it can mean a lot of things to a person. It could mean you have someone there with you, or someone cares about you enough to stick by your side. It can mean you are never alone despite what you think and that there is always someone you can turn to in a time of trouble, but you just need a little push to find that person.
·         Q12: Well take a scary movie for example. You know when something scary is going to happen by the tone of the music. If you have a haunting sound then you might want to cover your eyes. Then take comedies, when something stupid or funny is happening they normally have some silly song playing to amplify the mood.
·         Q13: Yes, I believe music is poetry because if you throw a few lines together without any true meaning then what’s the point? I think music is emotional, like poetry, and people are trying to convey a message through song.
·         Q14: Music is like hope for me. It helps when things are too quiet for me or too loud and I just want to block out the world. It helps when I sad or bored. It is always there when I need it.

·         Q15: I would love to be a professional singer one day because I love singing and I love music. I think being a singer is a great thing and a great way to spread a message to people because everyone listens to music even if they don’t like it. Music is a part and a way of life.
